Brenda Gentile has never been one to stay in just one lane. Throughout her life, she has embraced a variety of careers, each one adding a unique chapter to her story. She has worked as a legal secretary, served as a tape librarian at Kennedy Space Center, and spent time as a personal trainer at Houstonian Club in Houston, Texas. For the past 27 years, she owned and operated a successful photography studio, capturing thousands of memories for families and businesses.
After retiring from photography, Brenda found herself drawn to a different kind of storytelling. Inspired by her three grandsons, she began writing children’s books and finally put pen to paper on the story that had been living in her heart and imagination for years—The Legacy of Palmetto Point.
One of the most meaningful aspects of the Palmetto Point series is the inspiration behind its characters. Brenda incorporated the names, personalities, and qualities of many of her lifelong childhood friends into the stories, creating a fictional community that reflects the friendships and values she has treasured throughout her life. The result is a heartwarming series that readers often describe as “Hallmark-worthy.”
Brenda is the proud mother of two children, grandmother to three grandchildren (and counting), and happily married to her husband, Ken. Her strong faith, unwavering convictions, and love for the Lord have guided her through every season of life and continue to inspire both her writing and her relationships.
When she’s not writing, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, serving her community, and dreaming up new stories that celebrate friendship, faith, family, and the power of belonging.
Through her books, Brenda hopes to remind readers that family, friendship, faith, and community are the true legacies we leave behind.
