Brenda Gentile writes stories filled with heart—whether she is creating childrens books or crafting a sweeping coastal family saga for adults.

The Freddie & Friends childrens series teaches kindness, sharing and friendship. After countless hous reading to her grandsons, Brenda noticed that many childrens books lacked meaningful lessons or truly beautiful artwork. She set out to create stories that were heartfelt, visually rich, and full of purpose, so her grandchildren, and children everywhere, could experience books that both delight and inspire.

The Legacy at Palmetto Point series is a dream she has carried for a very long time. Though fictional, it is deeply personal. Many of the characters are drawn from lifelong friendships dating back to elementary school: the four Norwood brothers were inspired by the boys who lived across the street and played alongside her every day; Melissa was named after her best friend since the second grade; and Charlie, the beloved antique-shop owner, reflects a real friend whose loyalty, quick wit, and honesty have never wavered. Even places like Travis Hardware come straight from the world she grew up in.

To Brenda, Palmetto Point is more than a story—it’s a tribute to community, connection, and the people who shape who we become. Across every genre, she writes with warmth, nostalgia, and the unwavering belief that kindness and love are what truly make a home.
